The Ritual — 8–15 Minutes

  1. Set a tidy place

  2. Center and recall your seed

    • Open your eyes. On the slip of paper write one clear, finishable action you will do today to nurture that seed — a minute-long step, a single practice, or one short task. Make it precise and kind to your life.
  4. Warm it with voice and herb 
    • Hold the paper near the candle (safely) and breathe the herb’s scent once or twice. Speak your single action aloud three times with warmth: each repetition gives it muscle.
  5. Anchor it in your body 
    • Place your hands on your lower belly and take three full breaths, imagining the action sinking into the sacral and solar plexus. If you like, move your hips once in a gentle sway to embody motion.
  6. Commit with a small ritual touch 
    • Fold the paper and tuck it somewhere visible for the day — an altar, a jar, or beside your cup. Each time you do the action, touch the paper or cup and say, “One tending.” This tiny mark keeps momentum alive.
  7. Close in gratitude and review 
    • Snuff the candle gently. At day’s end, glance at the paper: if done, mark it with a dot of ink or a quick tick. If not, note what stopped you and make tomorrow’s action even smaller. Repeat the sequence over the week to build steady growth.
